| i've struggled with depression for as long as i can remember. it nearly conquered me on several occasions, but the lord held the life fast in my body even as i denied his very existence and stubbornly refused all the gifts he had for me. that was a long time ago. i no longer want to die, and i am raw and enthralled and blissfully aware of the blessings that every hour brings into my life. i want to live, but sometimes the black creeps back into my mind and it weighs my limbs down and makes me weary. and that's where i am right now. lost somewhere deep inside my own skin, wondering why i should suddenly feel so down out of the blue--unable to get out of bed, content to throw the blanket over my face and pretend i am not part of the world. i just dont undersand why i get so sad sometimes--seemingly for no reason. and i just pray for this to pass--that i have the patience to wait it out and shake it off. i know the lord is with me always. he has carried me thru much worse and he's not about to drop me now. i just get tired of feeling so tired sometimes. |

MamaGavone, thank you for trusting us with this story about your struggle with depression. Know, first, that we are praying with and for you -- tonight in our real-time Prayer Chapel, and in the prayers of the many who are reading and will read your story.
Second, I've struggled with depression for many years, and the feelings you describe are familiar to me. The physical effects: difficulty moving and even making small decisions. Fatigue. A feeling of physical and emotional paralysis. And also, the feeling of depression coming out of nowhere, and hitting you hard.
I think a lot of people reading your prayer request can identify with what you're experiencing. In my experience, I found that counselling and anti-depressants helped. But most important was a sense of being part of a Christian community. So, we're with you in prayer, tonight and in the days to come. |

| i've been on anti-depressants for years. they had to try every drug in the book before they found one that actually worked for me. and i'm very lucky to have one of the best therapists in the world on my side. she truly has worked some miracles for me since i've been in her care.
i do hope that there are people out there who can see themselves in my story. it's a very powerful thing to be able to say 'i know what that's like' to someone who is listening for just such a message--the comfort that comes with recognition and identification. you have given me such comfort tonight, iucc. thank you for all your kind words and prayers. the discovery of this little forum is turning out to be a real blessing for me; it's just another very small but very big way the lord is working in my life. |

Within that secret place of the most high, I recognize that there is only one Mind, the Mind of God, the source and substance of all there is. God is the Creative Intelligence of the universe; God is Love, Life, Beauty, Truth, Peace, Power, Abundance, Balance and Joy. God/Spirit is all there is and ever shall be.
Therefore, I am part of that, as is MamaGavone, and everyone and everything. In this recognition, I am unified in consciousness with God/Spirit right here and right now; and so I speak my word of prayer, Knowing that it is already done.
I speak my word for Mama Gavone, knowing that she is an individualized expression of the divine. She is creative and intelligent. She is loving and kind. She is an expression of Beauty and Truth. And she is expressing Balance of mind-body-emotions and actions in her life now. She walks in balance. She is whole, perfect and complete. She is blessed and she is a blessing to her family and to the world.
I am grateful for this realization, knowing this is the truth about MamaGavone, I release these words into the workings of God/Spirit. And So It Is. Amen. |

MamaGavone, Peace and prayers abound from those that truly do care for you. I believe you and hear the pain in your story and I believe that even though it may feel very alone at time, trust that God is with you, even in the darkest hour. My prayer for you this day is for understanding that you are never alone.

TMRock--indeed we are never alone. lets just pray that we remember that when we need to the most...and thank you for reminding me when i need it most--and that goes for all of you. |

Jenna, I know where you're at right now. I have this depression thing, too, and its really ramping up lately! Usually I don't get depressed in the summer, but there are specific reasons this year. You have my prayers and understanding. |

Learn about new and ancient spiritual practices, and share your spiritual journey with others on a quest like yours. Prayer Chapel End your day with a simple, quiet, meditative experience of evening prayer. We gather in our virtual Prayer Chapel every night at 9 p.m. (Eastern).
