Hi all. I'm brand new to these forums and thought I'd just introduce myself. I'm Jenna, a Philly native living in Virginia Beach (thanks to the Navy--husband's a sailor). I go to Lynnhaven Colony Congregational Church, UCC here in VA Beach. Don't know how often I will be able to post here (I have two baby boys who keep me always on my toes), but I look forward to joining in the discussions whenever I am graced with a free minute. Cheers and God bless! --Jenna

Jenna, So glad to have you joining us and with two babies, I can imagine it's hard to find time to be online alot. Thanks for coming to the forum, though, as we always need "new blood" and we do welcome you. Ginny

Jenna,
I'm new to i.ucc too, and ther are not a lot of us on this site out here in the west. Sometimes I have my daughter handy to teach me how to do this.  This is a wonderful program and I hope you use it often.  My wife's family lived in Pensilvania a long time ago, and I have been there several times.  Now we live in Idaho (Come see it sometime.  God made it really beautiful if you get to our mountains where I was born.)

God is still speaking!

hey, thanks for all the welcomes! it's refreshing to come on the internet and find a place like this. with all the ads and trash we always have to sort thru when we're online, it's good to be reminded that the internet can indeed give us a place to come together as a community that exists beyond state and national borderlines.

Hi Jenna - I just join up today and posted a piece about a new book Thoughts And Heresies. I am the pastor at Burton's Grove Christian and live in Suffolk, VA. I know your church and your pastor. Take care and good luck on handling those young ones. Peace & Joy - Dan

I was a Navy kid and spent a large span of my childhood in Virginia Beach. I'm sure it has changed a lot since we were there in the early - mid 80's. My parents and I often visited a park called Pongo. (or Pungo maybe?) I don't know if it is still there, but if it is your boys may enjoy it too!

yay soc! way to represent on the boards :) i truly did have a surprising amount of fun at the gathering. it was a lot less hard-core business and dissention and a lot more educational and uplifting and there was a wonderful sense of humor thru-out the whole meeting this time around. we are so blessed to have so many wonderful leaders.

UCC 101
Learn more about the UCC's past and present, and the future of our "united and uniting church" which we hope will include you! We've got blogs, videos and a discussion space where you can ask questions about the church—and about this online community. UCC members are also welcome!

Opening the Bible
We believe that when you explore the Bible, you don't have to check your mind at the door—or your curiosity. Scripture can do great harm when used as a weapon, but it also opens a door to the story of God's loving relationship with humanity.

Spirit Café
We invite you to an interactive space for spiritual inquiry and exploration. Learn about new and ancient spiritual practices, and share your spiritual journey with others on a quest like yours.

Prayer Chapel
End your day with a simple, quiet, meditative experience of evening prayer. We gather in our virtual Prayer Chapel every night at 9 p.m. (Eastern). At all other times, you're welcome to post your prayer requests in our Prayer Chapel Forum.
