Bio:
Anissa Bacon is an associate minister at an urban church in Iowa. I am originally from the East Coast, and came to ministry through my career in church music. My special interests include hymnology - specifically music and song of the early American churches. In recent years I have spent more time with community song, speaking to churches and retreat groups about why we sing and encouraging all to use their voices in lament and praise. I am drawn to monastic life, yet do not feel called to that vocation and am, therefore, constantly seeking ways to express and nurture my monastic tendencies within the theologies and traditions of the UCC.
