I live in a very remote area of northern BC Canada. We try to get out to church every other week but it is an hour and a half drive each way and in winter the weather is sometimes too bad to venture out. So obviously I am missing Christian fellowship and came looking for that here. I started a blog at my Pastor's request for my church in the hope that that would fill the need, not only for myself but for others who are far flung from their church and fellowship, but it did not take off as we had hoped as many people are not comfortable with computers. So I guess it was not the Lord's timing. Personally I am concerned about backsliding as the daily devotionals are becoming somewhat dry and Bible reading more a chore than a delight. I know this is a season but I am trying to be proactive with my Christian walk. There is no outreach possibilities here but I have been using the internet to try and get the message out in different ways for about ten years now. My blog was featured on Internet Evangelism Day Magazine as a low key way to get the message across as I do not believe in hitting anyone over the head with the Word. I fell in love with computers when I used my first one way back in 1970 and later went on to teach various software programs I still find them fascinating. My computer is my window on the world as we are so isolated. I am hoping I can bring something to UCC and gain something also.

Opening the Bible

We invite you to an interactive space for spiritual inquiry and exploration. Learn about new and ancient spiritual practices, and share your spiritual journey with others on a quest like yours.

End your day with a simple, quiet, meditative experience of evening prayer. We gather in our virtual Prayer Chapel every night at 9 p.m. (Eastern). At all other times, you're welcome to post your prayer requests in our Prayer Chapel Forum.
