I'm the pastor of St. John's UCC in Ackley, Iowa. I've also served congregations in Nebraska, Missouri and South Dakota. I have a wife, and three children. My oldest daughter is in the Peace Corps, stationed in Kenya, doing AIDS/HIV education. My second daughter is about to graduate from SIUE, in Illinois. My son is about to graduate from high school. I grew up in the Reformed Church in America, a conservative mainline denomination, the son of a preacher. When I graduated from seminary I ended up being ordained not by the RCA, but by the UCC. That was 25 years ago, and I'm glad things worked out the way they did. God works in mysterious ways.
