Like Jesus--the UCC loves a good party-- What am I talking about. Today they announced that General Synod has passed the 7,100 mark and may reach 10,000 registered participants. Sounds like a party. In Luke 5 Jesus is at a big party that Levi threw perhaps in his honor--Levi's friends, tax-collectors and crooks are there along with Jesus and his disciples. the Pharasees complain. "John's disciples are well known for keeping fasts and saying prayers, also the Pharisees. But you, you seem to spend most of your time at parties. Why?" Jesus answer: "When your celebrating--you don't skimp on the cake and wine." Wonder if those at Synod will do as Jesus did? LOL By the way---sure wish I was able to be there. Karl
