Hey My name is Craig, I'm currently a minister in another denomination. I like the inclusiveness that the UCC has and I am interested in uniting with the church. I am wondering what I need to do as far as getting ordained in the church. I can't seem to find the information that I need. Can someone help!

Hi Craig.

The UCC has a website that starts you in a direction where you can find out how to be ordained in the UCC.  http://www.askthequestion.org.  I'd suggest that you navigate to the UCC conference (usually states) or association (smaller areas) in your area and get in touch with a conference minster.

I'm looking forward to hearing how things are going!

I've served on the Committee on Ministry for a UCC Association, and we had several people go through the process of having their ordination recognized by the UCC. There's some study of our history, and some conversation about your reasons for wishing to affiliate with us. It may take a little time, and a little work, but it's certainly worth it, and you'd be welcome. We do require that you be in good standing with your present denomination, of course. You can access the UCC's Manual on MInistry through the www.ucc.org website. Just put "Manual on Ministry" into the search, and it should pop up. There is a section within it with the procedures to follow, just so you know what to expect.
