what's the ucc

as a gay working class slob, sometimes religious person - it is the representation of the style and sort of politik future I view as being required of today's and tomorrow's universal church ... it's non-conformist (hasn't got an ecclesiastical hierarchy, nor theocracy), it's lay members are empowered and invited to be part of the process of being church (and I don't just mean putting the flowers out on the alter on Sunday type stuff), and it's immensily tied to actions and acting in accordance to a liberational style of theology and is determined to being and remaining meaningful in terms of putting out rich progressive christian imput out there for the larger society to see and read - in terms of addressing the imbalance of having christianity always being presented in strict narrow terms of social and personal moral norms by the more conservative and fundamentalist arms of the christian world - by addressing the wider issues of concern to most people, those being: class, poverty, workplace issues and sexuality and coloured discrimination.
