I introduced myself on the Introductions forum. I was wondering if there are any UCC websites that have video of their services. I am just curious to see what a typical (if such a thing exists!) service is like in the UCC. I'd like to compare and contrast - in my own geeky way - the way yall do things versus how my church [PC(USA)] does things.

probably not a big difference.

Visiting other churches is far more fun! I have been to Circular Congregational Church in Charleston South Carolina, to services performed at Saint Simon's Island in Georgia, Birmingham, Alabama and Marion, Georgia - and of course my own church in Columbia, South Carolina - they were all different and yet not all that different! There are various styles and traditions that vary by location but overall there is a tremendous sense of welcoming and spirit-filled worship and community. I am not aware of a webcast of any services except the ones offered here - but I would be interested in viewing some!

Churches who are video taping and displaying their services may be about something different than what your and many local churches are about. Like paying attention to how it's going to look.

Check out iTunes, oddly enough.  Do a search for "UCC" or "United Church of Christ" and you'll see the congregations that film their services and upload them to iTunes.  The Cathedral of Hope, of course, is quite well known for their video podcasts.  There is also a congregation in Claremont, California that produces a well-made video of their services.  In addition to video podcasts, a number of congregations make audio podcasts.  You aren't, however, going to get the full service from any podcast.  Congregations are naturally required to remove parishioners' prayers due to privacy, and hymns due to copyright.

Peace and Grace!!!
