JOIN UCC PRAYER
CHAPEL PARTNERS
a growing outreach of UCC congregations
Your congregation is invited to join a growing network of UCC churches that covenant to pray together on i.UCC.org—the UCC’s online community.
This is a great opportunity for members of your congregation to support in prayer seekers and other UCC members who come to our online community seeking help.
Here's how it works:
- Every day, seekers and UCC members post prayer requests on the Prayer Chapel Forum at i.UCC.
- Members of your congregation can respond to those prayer requests by posting messages of assurance and support on the Prayer Chapel Forum.
- Your congregation can download prayer requests (or a selection of those requests) once a week and use them during times of intercessory prayer in small meetings or study groups, or in worship on Sunday morning, or in any other setting.
i.UCC does not replace the experience of prayer in the local congregation! But for many seekers who are searching for a spiritual home, i.UCC may be their first encounter with the United Church of Christ. By surrounding them with your prayers, your congregation can demonstrate in action the inclusive hospitality we offer to all who come to us for acceptance and healing. And, since many UCC members regularly use i.UCC as a community for online prayer, joining our Prayer Chapel Partners will give your congregation an experience of relationship with the wider church.
We’ll post the name of your church and a link to your website when you join the Partners. To sign up, just write to i.UCC@ucc.org or use the email form on the right side of this page. Remember: participation should be approved by the congregation's pastor or elected leadership.
And remember: our Prayer Chapel Forum and our daily real-time service of evening prayer (at 9 p.m. Eastern) are both available for you and your congregation when you need to ask the wider church for prayers. So, by helping others in prayer, you can count on the support of other members of the growing i.UCC community.
